Shearings raises Christmas capacity
Shearings Holidays has increased capacity for its coach holidays this Christmas as bookings rise by as much as 29%.
Latest figures from Shearings reveal that demand for package coach trips, such as its four-day Christmas Shopper breaks, are up over 2008.
In response, Shearings has launched a new festive brochure with increased capacity on a choice of festive breaks, including an expanded collection of UK and European Christmas markets with two-day breaks from £59.
“Our short festive breaks, which start as early as October, are proving really popular this year and are a great opportunity for agents to boost bookings in quieter months,†said commercial director Caroline Brown.
“They’re also an ideal way to help build customer loyalty and tap into the valuable over 50s market.
“Bookings for our four-day festive coach breaks are up by 29% compared to last year, which suggests people are seeking quick getaways which offer the chance to pick up some bargain Christmas shopping.
“Repeat bookings to our European destinations including Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy also remain high and we’ve added options of seven and nine-day breaks to popular destinations like Prague.â€
The new 116-page Britain and Europe 2009–10 Festive Breaks brochure features autumn and winter breaks across the UK, Ireland and Europe as well as a preview of the Spring programme.
