SIA website crashes as more countries added to Singapore’s VTL scheme
Following the announcement Singapore is expanding its vaccinated travel lanes to several more countries, a rush of inquiries sent Singapore Airlines’ website offline.
The sheer weight of website traffic overloaded its servers as the Lion City’s residents look to escape overseas for the first time in 18 months. The airline said it was hit by ‘technical difficulties’ just after the announcement.
Quarantine-free travel to the US, Denmark, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, the UK and Canada begins next week via special vaccinated travel lane flights. The VTL scheme began in September with Brunei and Germany.
