Silverjet postpones double daily service
Silverjet has postponed the launch of its second daily flight from Luton to New York Newark until September 20.
The announcement caused a sharp drop of around 13% in its shares yesterday.
The service was due to go double daily at the end of this month, but has been delayed after Silverjet found the older of its two aircraft required maintenance work.
Its new aircraft, which entered service last week, will provide the current daily service.
Passengers already booked on cancelled flights are being offered a refund or a seat on the first service.
