Singapore Airlines warns of another ticket scam
Singapore Airlines has once again issued a warning about a scam targeting the airline’ customers offering free flight tickets.
The too good to be true promotion offering free flights in exchange for sharing a link with 20 friends is not endorsed by the airline.
The scam began circulating on messaging app WhatsApp last weekend and takes customers to a webpage that closely resembles SIA branding.
It then asked for personal information from customers.
In a Facebook posting the airline cautioned customers not to share any personal information.
"SIA wishes to advise customers to be cautious of phishing websites that appear similar to the official website and to exercise caution in sharing their personal details online," it said.
"We explained that the message is not from SIA and that the public should ignore it."
The airline has been targeted twice already this year with fake promotions offering prizes of free tickets.
Due to the prevalence of attempted scams targeting the airline, SIA set up a webpage for customers to report dubious websites, emails and calls claiming to be from Singapore Airlines
