Singer Morrissey accuses San Francisco TSA agent of ‘groping’
British solo singer Morrissey has filed a sexual assault complaint against a TSA agent at San Francisco airport, claiming he was ‘groped’ at passenger screening.
The former lead singer of The Smiths said the incident took place Monday as he was preparing to board a flight to London.
"I went through the usual airport security procedure including the stand-up ‘scanner’, and all was well — no bleeps and nothing unusual," Morrissey wrote on fan site True to You.
"The officer who sexually assaulted me was identified as the general manager on duty. Luckily I was accompanied by two members of British Airways Special Services, who were horrified at the sexual attack and suggested that I lodge a complaint."
The Transport Security Administration denied any inappropriate behavior, saying security camera footage showed standard procedures were followed.
"TSA takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and strives to treat every passenger with dignity and respect," TSA spokesman Mike England said.
"Upon review of closed circuit TV footage, TSA determined that the supervised officer followed standard operating procedures in the screening of this individual."
