Ski season kicks off with pretty good conditions
Ski resorts in Europe and North America are in pretty good shape for the start of the season, which gets underway this weekend.
A snowstorm brought more snow to the northern French Alps and western Switzerland last weekend, although high winds sweeping across the Alps this week have blown away some of the off-piste powder in more exposed areas.
The southern Alps have experienced some rain – which is not great – and temperatures were warming up this week, causing snow on some lower slopes to soften.
However, the forecast is for more snow, especially in the north-western Alps.
All in all, it’s not looking like a bad start to the season and clients heading to the Alps over Christmas and New Year should be in for some good skiing.
