Smoker-friendly hotel booking site launches
A new online booking platform has been launched aiming to fill a gap in the market for nicotine craving travelers.
Lake Forest, CA based website Smoketels.com specializes in smoking rooms only at over 100,000 hotel properties in North America and overseas.
The website allows travelers to book hotel stays in all price ranges for rooms without smoking restrictions in the knowledge that all properties listed have been selected as ‘smoker-friendly.’
The company, part of the Expedia affiliate network, believes its key selling point is as "a direct link to a segment of the hospitality industry that is welcoming to smokers," without the time-consuming process of checking individual hotel listings with established OTA’s to see if in-room smoking is permitted.
The website offers a low price guarantee, no booking fees and accepts major credit cards.
Smoketels is not the first website to cater directly to smokers in the hospitality business, but it believes it has the inventory to meet a demand which is currently served mainly by niche and location-specific providers.
