Somak Holidays has expanded into the Far East with a brochure covering eight countries.

The long haul Africa and India specialist is featuring 145 hotels in more than 45 resorts and cities in countires including China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The 134-page brochure runs until April 2006 and has been produced despite the Boxing Day tsunami disaster in the Indian Ocean.

The operator’s Far East general manager Rob Haynes said: “The recent tragic event in Asia has reinforced how important tourism is to that part of the world. We have therefore decided to donated £5 for every flight-inclusive holiday sold from the new programme to the tsunami disaster appeal, for the entire shelf life of the brochure.”

He added: “We have put together a dedicated team of specialists to operate the programme.”

Sample prices start at £599 for 10 nights in Thailand, £649 for seven nights in Penang and £669 for the same duration holiday in Bali.

Three-night city stop-overs are available in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. Four-night breaks are offered in Bangkok.
