Southampton hails record year for cruise calls
The Port of Southampton broke more records in 2025.
It saw its highest ever number of cruise calls and a record number of days when all five of the cruise terminals where in use simultaneously.
This year, Southampton welcomed more than three million cruise passengers for the second year running.
Alastair Welch, ABP Regional Director, said: “I’m delighted to see Southampton’s cruise sector continuing to thrive. We take great pride in ensuring vessels arrive on time and in allocating berths well in advance—often up to two years ahead.”
“Alongside trusted partners such as Carnival UK, we make sure ships depart safely and efficiently, equipped with everything they need for a successful voyage. This means vessels leave on time, ready to deliver an enjoyable holiday for their passengers.”
Carnival UK’s 2025 Economic Report says each cruise turnaround generates from £1.9 million to £2.5 million to the region.
