Southampton start for bmi regional

Bmi regional is to fly from Southampton Airport for the first time with a service to Amsterdam.

The bmi subsidiary is to serve Amsterdam with four flights a day on weekdays, two flights on Sundays and a single flight on Saturdays from October 29.

The airline is to use a 49-seat Embraer 145 regional jet on the route with seats going on sale on Friday. Return fares start at £48 excluding taxes.

Bmi regional will offer connections with Star Alliance partner airlines from Amsterdam.

ScotAirways currently operates on the Southampton-Amsterdam route.
