Southwest Airlines is paring back flights at major cities across the country as it seeks to optimize schedules for 2020.

A total of 17 routes will be cut with Boston, Orlando, Los Angeles and Dallas Love Field hardest hit.

Starting from January 2020 Orlando and LA will each lose four routes apiece while three routes will be trimmed at Dallas Love Field and Boston.

The Boston flights to get the chop are Milwaukee, Kansas City and Atlanta.

LA flights to go include international services to Cancun and Puerto Vallerta.

Southwest will also end flights between Austin and San Francisco, Columbus and Oakland and Fort Lauderdale – Jacksonville.

"We are always evaluating our service patterns and performance to ensure that we are offering the right number of seats for the community based on demand from travelers," Southwest said in a statement.

The airline noted that all the city pairs will still be available via one-stop connections.
