Southwest Airlines makes another change likely to annoy passengers
Southwest Airlines has made another change which will likely not be well received by customers.
The airline’s travel credits will now have an expiry date starting next month.
Starting on May 28, travel credits issued will expire 12 months from the date of the original ticket purchase.
For the basic economy fares, the travel credit validity is even shorter – six months from the date of the original ticket purchase.
Currently airline travel credit vouchers have no expiry.
Travel credits are issued during disruption and delays, or compensation for a specific onboard service or customer service failure.
It comes on the heels of several fundamental changes announced at Southwest.
The airline’s enduring ‘bags fly free’ policy of not charging for checked bags is ending for most passengers, along with the policy of unassigned seating.
