Southwest expands network to Cancun, Los Cabos
Southwest Airlines is expanding is international route map with flights to Cancun and Los Cabos in Mexico.
The airline said from August 10, it will fly daily non-stop departing Atlanta and Baltimore to Cancun and between Santa Ana, California and Los Cabos.
There will also be weekly Saturday Milwaukee-Cancun and Atlanta-Nassau, Bahamas flights.
Additionally, a Denver service will operate from October with daily nonstop flights to Cancun and Saturdays only to Los Cabos.
The carrier announced in January it would begin international flights on its own planes for the first time to Aruba, Jamaica and the Bahamas, which commence on July 1.
Currently international flights are still operated by subsidiary Air Tran, which Southwest acquired in 2011.
All Air Tran domestic and international routes will be fully integrated into the Southwest flight network by the end of 2014, the company announced earlier this year.
