SPAA welcomes back Barrhead with open arms

The Scottish Passenger Agents Association vice president Joanne Dooey has welcomed the return of Barrhead Travel to the SPAA.

The Glasgow-based company, which has 70 branches across the country, has rejoined the Association it left 15 years ago with immediate effect.

"The SPAA mission is to ensure that the Scottish travel marketplace is fair for consumers and travel agents. We are the voice of the profession. I am therefore delighted that one of the country’s most successful travel agencies has returned to SPAA membership," said Dooey.

"We’re facing a time of regulatory change and commercial challenges for the industry and, due to the issues facing many operators and airlines, travel agencies are undergoing a period of renaissance with the public.

"Having Barrhead Travel as a member once again means that their experiences and those of their clients can be shared across the sector leading to a stronger voice for both travel agents and their customers."

Barrhead Travel president Jacqueline Dobson said: "Quality is key in our industry; quality of product and quality of customer service are what keep people coming back to travel agents. I believe that the SPAA offers a significant forum for sharing best practice amongst Scottish agents and, importantly, a voice to lobby for change so that we can keep delivering quality experiences for our collective customers.

"I am delighted to be bringing Barrhead Travel back to SPAA membership."
