Spirit Airlines flight catches fire
All passengers deplaned safely after a Spirit Airlines flight caught fire while touching down in Atlanta. The brakes in the landing gear ignited as the flight from Tampa landed, airport officials said.
Firefighters quickly put out the fire and the plane was towed to the gate for disembarking. One of the plane’s brakes overheated and no passengers were injured, the airline said.
The plane was taken out of service for maintenance, Spirit said.
