Spirit shareholders to vote on Frontier bid next month
Spirit Airlines’ shareholders will vote on the $2.9 billion buyout offer from Frontier Airlines on June 10. Spirit’s board is recommending the Frontier bid.
It has rejected JetBlue’s $3.6 billion rival offer as they expect it to be scuppered by antitrust concerns.
Frontier says combining with Spirit would help them compete more aggressively with the big four airlines – American Airlines, Delta, United Airlines and Southwest.
