St. Louis expands convention offerings
With the opening of St. Louis’s newest hotel, a 200-room Hilton, the downtown hospitality district now has 7,600 sleeping rooms near the America’s Center convention complex.
Area-wide, the city has 35,000 rooms.
St. Louis has 26 hotels offering more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space.
The America’s Center has 502,000 square feet of exhibit space.
CVB people are also promoting the area’s 1,400-seat Ferrara Theatre for planners who need professional theatre setting for one of their events.
The convention area is surrounded by four entertainment district developments.
Area promoters are also selling the Gateway Arch, which turns 40 this year, for opening meeting events. The 630-foot landmark can be rented by groups. Many Arch events end with fireworks.
