St Lucia requires all yachters to complete immigration cards

Monday, 11 Aug, 2014 0

The Caribbean island of St Lucia will soon require yachters to fill out immigration entry cards on arrival, the Ministry of Tourism said.

The new rules will become effective on September 1.

According to Tourism ministry officials, it will help to "accurately account for yachting and stay-over arrivals and better serve the needs of our valued tourists."

An immigration card needs to be completed for every person on board a boat arriving at Rodney Bay, Marigot Bay, Vieux Fort, Soufriere and Ganter’s Bay.

"St Lucia is fast becoming the yachting destination of choice for many," a Tourism Ministry statement said.

"The added value which the yachting sector brings to the island’s tourism industry is evidenced by the range of employment opportunities available, economic benefits and linkages formed with other sectors."
