Stansted passengers delayed again by M11 closure

Passengers driving to and from London Stansted today face more delays after another accident on the M11.

Essex police have closed the M11 northbound near to Stansted following a collision at around 5.20am this morning involving a car and two lorries.

Police have closed the road at junction 7 and are urging people to avoid the area and listen to traffic bulletins.

"The road could be closed for some time and we thank you for your patience," a statement added.

Ryanair told passengers flights would be leaving on time and said anyone who misses a flight will be switched to the next available flight free of charge.

The M11 was closed for most of the day last Wednesday after another accident, this time involving a lorry and a motorcycle.

This weekend, passengers travelling to Stansted by train will suffer bus replacement services on the Stansted Express.
