Starwood launches free Sheraton stays for SPG members
Starwood Hotels & Resorts continues to put its Sheraton brand center stage with a loyalty promotion offering free weekend stays.
The ‘Sheraton Free Weekends’ promotion gives Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) loyalty program members a free weekend night at any Sheraton hotel worldwide for every five nights booked at a Sheraton property.
The program is valid until September 30, 2015, and customers must first register by September 15.
Any free weekend nights can be redeemed until December 13.
One of the key missions with our new Sheraton 2020 plan is to turn heads and captivate guests," added Adam Aron, Starwood interim CEO.
"This is the first of many new initiatives and programs for Sheraton that will signal a new momentum within this storied brand."
Sheraton 2020 is Starwood’s new revitalization plan for Sheraton which had become ‘tired’ Aron said.
It begins with the launch of a $100 million marketing campaign, and will also include a new sub-brand called Sheraton Grand and a heavier focus on the meetings market.
"Sheraton Free Weekends makes it easy to earn and redeem free nights due to Sheraton’s expansive presence, providing our SPG members the chance to explore more of the world with us," added Chris Holdren, senior vice president, digital, loyalty, and partnership marketing at Starwood.
