STB suspends 10 travel agencies
The Singapore Tourism Board has suspended 10 travel agencies over a failure to submit their financials on time.
The 10 agencies failed to file audited accounts and/or annual business profile returns.
These are a requirement for all licensed travel agencies within six months of the end of their financial year.
It suspended ASAP International Travel, Asiagoodlife, Betel Box Asia, Fox Brothers Travel, Go City Pass Asia, Gululu. Hotelux, Huamei Holidays, Native Inc and Rayna Tours.
The businesses are not permitted to accept new bookings until they submit the required paperwork, or for up to six months.
“During the period of suspension, the travel agents will be required to fulfil their existing obligations to their customers but will not be allowed to accept new travel bookings,” STB said.
The STB has a strict policy on financial compliancy for travel agencies and errant businesses are penalised on a regular basis.
It said any suspended travel agency accepting new bookings is liable to enforcement action.
