Stunts and shunts at Sydney festival

Final line-up details have been released for the Top Gear Sydney Motor Festival taking place on March 9-10 at Eastern Creek’s Sydney Motorsport Park.

Australian formula one driver Mark Webber, in his Red Bull F1 racer, will bid to smash the circuit’s lap record.

The Festival will be hosted by the Top Gear television series’ long-standing presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and the Stig.

Rare supercars, muscle cars and a stunt plane are among the attractions during the two-day event.

The New South Wales state government, in conjunction with the Australian Racing Drivers’ Club, has secured the Top Gear Festival as a NSW-only event through to 2015.

Webber will also go head-to-head with V8 Supercars legend Craig Lowndes in an F1 versus V8 race.

It will be a weekend of motoring firsts as James May attempts to speed up the Express Postal service with help from a few MotoGP legends with the Postie Bike Challenge, and The Stig sets power lap times in some of the rarest supercars the country has ever seen.

Australia is only the second country to host a Top Gear Festival

The Festival is open from 8am till 6pm each day, with free CityRail public transport available on presentation of a valid Festival ticket.

The closest station is Blacktown, and shuttles will run all day to and from Sydney Motorsport Park.

Tickets start from AUD29 for a child’s General Admission, and AUD79 for an adult’s General Admission. Discounted Family General Admission Packages are also available and start at AUD180.
