Superbreak launches London brochure
Superbreak Mini-Holidays has added new theatre breaks, new hotels and new exhibition packages to its second edition London Travel Service brochure.
Being launched on Thursday (September 6), it features new theatre breaks for Hairspray, opening on October 11 at the Shaftesbury Theatre, and Desperately Seeking Susan at the Novello Theatre the following day.
The operator is also selling packages for the ‘Tutankhamun and The Golden Age of the Pharaohs’ exhibition which opens on November 22 at the 02 Arena (formerly the Millennium Dome) from £63.50pp.
All packages include overnight accommodation and tickets to the exhibition.
Agents can also pre-buy Oyster Cards for London’s transport system.
Superbreak is reporting record demand into London through travel agents with over 141,000 customers already booked in the seven months (January – July 07) – a 36% increase on 2006.
Ian Mounser, sales director, said: “There are no signs of demand slowing up, in fact it appears to be quite the opposite.
“We are on target for agents to book over 260,000 customers into London by the end of the year.”
He said the opening of the O2 complex has brought a whole range of additional concerts and events to the city plus big exhibitions.
The operator also reports that the average booking value of a short break into the capital is increasing. Currently it stands at £356, compared to £320 in 2006, which on average earns agents commission of approximately £60.
Mounser added: “Prices in London have hardened somewhat due to demand, but this growth in booking value also shows that agents are working harder and booking more pre-bookable add-ons such as rail and theatre.”
