Survey: Brits booking holidays earlier
Almost a quarter (23%) of people have already started booking flights and accommodation for 2025 overseas holidays, according to a survey.
The poll commissioned by American Express finds more than half (59%) of people have started planning international trips, including taking active steps in discussing dates and destinations.
Nearly two-thirds (62%) of those who have already booked flights said they have done it earlier than they did last year.
The overall average cost of a holiday abroad is around £1,753 with more than a quarter (27%) expect to spend more on holidays in 2025 than they did this year.
Dave Edwards, VP, American Express said: “With 2025 fast approaching, many of us are eagerly looking ahead to getaways.”
“Our research shows Brits are getting prepared and spending earlier than they did this year.”
The survey highlights Spain, Italy, Greece, France, the US and the Canary Islands as the top overseas destinations for UK travellers.
Also, nearly two-thirds (63%) have already started planning staycation breaks in the UK with Brits expected to spend an average £784 per trip.
