Survey shows high penetration of event apps for meeting planners
Adoption of mobile apps for the meetings industry has reached "critical mass" according to an industry-wide survey.
A poll conducted by event app company DoubleDutch in association with Meeting Professionals International says over 60% of planners are already using mobile apps for their events.
Of the remainder who have yet to adopt them, another 60% said they plan to use mobile apps in the near future.
The findings prove that the usage of apps is at critical mass, said CEO of DoubleDutch Lawrence Coburn.
"This research has validated that the mobile app moment is here to stay," Coburn said
"Software is far more powerful than paper, and I expect to see rapid innovation in all forms of event tech as the meeting and event space evolves towards providing attendees and sponsors with a clearer picture of ROI."
The results came from a new survey of meeting professionals which polled respondents on event app usage, preferred features and reasons for purchasing.
