Sydney airport to get upgrade
Sydney airport is to get an upgrade to cut turnaround times and create faster connections within Australia.
The new ‘Right Future’ plan will see the current international terminal handling non-aligned airlines and those aligned with Virgin Australia.
The current T1 and T2 terminals would deal with Qantas-aligned airlines.
Bringing the international and domestic terminals together will reduce turnaround times.
Tourism Australia managing director Andrew McEvoy welcomed the news as the industry improves infrastructure to cope with forecasted increase in demand.
