Sykes Holiday Cottages ventures into caravan rentals with acquisition
Sykes Holiday Cottages has acquired leading static caravan rental website UKcaravans4hire.
It marks a new direction for Sykes, by entering the static caravan holiday market for the first time.
It is a conscious move to diversify its rental portfolio.
UKcaravans4hire was established more than 10 years ago and connects holidaymakers to more than 6,000 holiday homes located across the UK.
Following the acquisition, the Huddersfield-based business will continue to be run independently by its existing leadership teams within a newly formed parent company.
The deal follows Sykes’ acquisition of Forest Holidays, owner and operator of environmentally sensitive cabins.
The combined group of businesses under Sykes’ are estimated to handle more than 2.65 million customers in 2022.
The group employs over 1,700 people and is on track to generate over £170m of revenue in 2022.
Graham Donoghue, CEO of Sykes, said: “UKcaravans4hire is the perfect business to have by our side as we enter into this new market.”
“It’s a transformative time for Sykes as we accelerate our ambitions to become the leading name for UK tourism.”
