Take a memo: It’s momondo
Cheapflights Media Ltd is adopting the name of its Danish travel search site subsidiary, momondo, as the company’s new corporate identity.
The decision reflects the company’s long-term strategy to further develop its geographical presence in non-English-speaking markets and to build the momondo brand to help the group expand into new products.
The company is also unveiling the latest phase in its international expansion programme with the roll out of a new presence in South Africa, www.cheapflights.co.za.
The launch builds on the early success of its dedicated Australasian site, www.cheapflights.com.au, which has seen more than a 50% growth in sales and visitor numbers over the past year.
The newly rebranded company is further strengthening its board with the appointment of Thorvald Stigsen, founder of momondo and its b2b technology precursor, Skygate Media.
The parent company, momondo group, will continue to be based in London with the Danish meta-search operation retaining its base in Copenhagen.
