Text Generation of Travel Money
Global foreign exchange specialist Travelex has introduced world-first text load capabilities on its Cash Passport travel card, allowing cardholders to top up their travel funds via SMS from anywhere in the world.
To register for TXT load, cardholders complete a registration form, which is available via www.cashpassport.com. Cardholders then receive a PIN number which allows them to access and load funds onto the Cash Passport 24 hours a day, seven day a week from anywhere with mobile reception – be it a gondola in Venice, hammock in Fiji or mountain in Morocco.
The money is safely and securely transferred onto the Cash Passport from the cardholder’s bank account in one business day, making it easier for them to access holiday funds from anywhere in the world.
Travelex’s Graham Perry says that agents will play an important role in educating and informing customers about the new text load function.
“The Travelex Cash Passport is available through over 4,000 agents nationally, and agents are our number one source of sales,†Perry said. The convenient new function is expected to appeal to the growing number of business and leisure travellers who use their mobile phones when overseas to keep in touch with the office or friends and family.
“With the quality of phones and global roaming access continually improving, text reload is a fast, secure and convenient way to up travel funds while you’re on the go,†he said. The travel money breakthrough also reflects developments in communications and how travellers carry and access money overseas.
