Thai AirAsia launches crowdfunding campaign

Friday, 12 Sep, 2021 0

Thai AirAsia is tapping the goodwill of the general public to secure its long-term future.

It has launched a crowdfunding campaign which is approved and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission, allowing investors and the general public to invest in the business.

The subscription debenture is available through the Peer Power investment platform.

The airline says it is confident of strong support from the investing public.

‘We thank everyone for all of their support throughout this difficult situation. This crowdfunding campaign will be another avenue for people to show their support. We are touched by the positive response that we have received so far," said Thai AirAsia CEO, Santisuk Klongchaiya.

The crowdfunding investment model was recently approved by the SEC.

Proceeds from the campaign will be used to shore up its short-term liquidity.

It is also raising capital through conventional means and undergoing a business restructuring of parent  Asia Aviation Plc.
