Thai Airways introduces preferred seating on international routes
Thai Airways has rolled out bookings for extra legroom seats on all international routes.
Economy and Royal Silk class passengers have the option to upgrade seats for a fee to the front row and in the emergency exit row seats, which it is touting as ‘preferred seating.’
Preferred seat upgrade fares are priced based on the flight duration from THB480 to THB3,195.
"Twenty-five premium airlines in the Star Alliance already collect additional fees for front-row seats. We are the latest airline to introduce the scheme," said Wiwat Piyawiroj, vice president of Thai Airways.
Passengers may only book preferred seats after the original seat booking has been issued.
It will be available for booking on the Thai Airways website from mid-August, the airline said.
Additionally, a business to first class upgrade option is also available on relevant flights.
