Thailand delays tourism fee
Thailand’s proposed THB300 tourism fee will be postponed until at least the fourth quarter this year, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports said. The Ministry also proposed the Thailand Pass be scrapped next month.
Tourism Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said additional research is needed on the tourism fee before it should be implemented. Piphat added that cancelling the cumbersome Thailand Pass will help boost international arrivals. The proposal to drop it will be addressed at the next meeting of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).
