Dallas-based airline Southwest is flying high alongside JetBlue as Southwest took top domestic honors for “Best Domestic Airline,” “Best Customer Service,” “Best Airfare Prices” and “Best Routes and Availability,” among others. JetBlue ranked first for “Best In-Seat Comfort” and “Best Onboard Entertainment.”

US Airways was saddled with two tags it received: “Least Favorite Domestic Airline” and “Dirtiest Airline Cabin” among domestic fliers. And while Continental didn’t top any of SmarterTravel’s categories, readers ranked the Houston-based carrier highly for “Best Value” where Continental came in third and “Best Customer Service,” where it placed second.

SmarterTravel came to its conclusions by querying readers on the travel Web site. 7,000 votes were received.

Southwest, which almost swept SmarterTravel’s top award categories, received no accolades from Conde Nast’s upscale readership. JetBlue took second place in both Conde Nast and SmarterTravel’s results for best domestic carrier.
