The Universe comes to Dubai
DUBAI – First it was Palm Islands. Then it was The World. Now get ready for The Universe, the latest man-made islands project in Dubai.
The new development has been unveiled by real estate developer Nakheel, whose other projects include The Palm islands and The World.
Since it launched the Palm Jumeirah man-made island project in 2001, dubbed as “the eighth wonder of the world,” Nakheel’s portfolio has grown to include the Palm Jebel Ali, the Palm Deira, Dubai Waterfront and The World cluster of 300 islands.
The Universe will be a mixed-use property development which Nakheel says “draws its inspiration from the wonders of the solar system”.
Nakheel managing director for design and development Abdul Rahman Kalantar said, “All our projects complement each other. The Universe is another iconic project.”
Nakheel came up with the project after doing a market survey and “the sales demand is beyond anybody’s imagination.”
The company believes the Dubai real estate market has grown and there is demand for such a project.
“Everyone says there is saturation in the market, but you will be amazed by the number of units that are sold within hours every time we launch a project,” Kalantar said.
“We invented the rule book for these projects,” Kalantar said.
