The boat was carrying 39 local tourists and crew and was returning to Hoi An from snorkelling and water sports destination Cu Lao Cham island.

The region has experienced bad weather in recent days causing rough seas, said local communist party chief Nguyen Sinh.
He confirmed 13 people had drowned.
Hoi An is one of Vietnam’s top tourist draws for its historic architecture and coastline.
