Thomas Cook Airlines announces summer expansion from Bristol
Thomas Cook Airlines is adding a third aircraft at Bristol Airport this summer, increasing its Bristol programme by nearly a third.
From May 1 an Airbus A320 aircraft will join the Bristol-based fleet – currently two A321s – and will allow the introduction of weekly flights to Hurghada (pictured above) from that date.
It will also see the launch of flights to Girona, Paphos, Burgas in Bulgaria, and Preveza in Greece and will allow Thomas Cook to grow capacity on other popular routes.
Compared to summer 17, capacity at Bristol airport for summer 18 to Greece is up 27%, Turkey by 74% and Cyprus 33%.
"We are seeing strong demand for Turkey, with Cyprus and Greece also proving very popular, said Christoph Debus, chief airlines officer at Thomas Cook Group.
"We are delighted to introduce flights to Hurghada, too – we have increased the number of seats on sale to Egypt by 14% across the UK this year, flying to both Hurghada and Marsa Alam."
Nigel Scott, business development director at Bristol Airport, said it was looking at further opportunities of developing its relationship with Thomas Cook.
