Thomas Cook has expressed its satisfaction with OTC by extending the deal for the company to power thomascook.com.

OTC, recently taken over by lastminute.com, signed a deal with Thomas Cook in October 2003 that would seal a two-year contract. The latest announcement means OTC will have the contract until May 2007.

Thomas Cook uses a customised version of OTC’s BYO self-packaging technology to allow consumers to combine scheduled and charter flights with Thomas Cook or OTC-contracted hotels.

OTC also provides systems for booking car hire and insurance and a range of administrative and financial functions including web-based call centre support tools, e-ticketing, fulfillment and financial reconciliation systems and browser-based management information tools.

Thomas Cook director of multimedia sales, Katherine Gershon said: “Since launching our new flights engine and dynamic city break packaging capability we have had an excellent response from customers and sales uplift.”
