Thomas Cook to ‘outperform’ rivals with online and dynamic packaging

Monday, 01 Dec, 2006 0

Club 18-30 and Flexibletrips boss Andy Tidy has been named director of thomascook.com.

The appointment follows the departure of Carol Dray earlier this year. She has since joined Travelzest.

Tidy has been managing director of UPtrips (Club 18-30 and Flexibletrips) and there is currently a process in place to find a replacement to lead this business, Thomas Cook said.

Flexibletrips will work more closely with the newly formed Thomas Cook Independent Travel team. Tidy’s Flexibletrips responsibilities will be taken over by Chris Smith, accommodation only and dynamic packaging director.

Rakshit Desai and Tony Milsom, the current leadership team for dotcom, will  report to Tidy, who will in turn be part of the team led by Robert Burgess as executive director, sales & distribution.

Thomas Cook UK CEO Manny Fontenla-Novoa said: “As we approach peaks it is vital that we maximise the sales opportunities via both thomascook.com and our dynamic packaging offerings, and these changes will help ensure we outperform the competition in the coming weeks.”
