Thomson Cape Verde cancellations continue

Tuesday, 30 Dec, 2016 0

Thomson Airways has cancelled flights to and from Cape Verde for the third day in a row because of ongoing poor visibility due to sand storms.

A break in the weather on Thursday allowed it to operate two aircraft safely into Boa Vista to return customers to the UK.

The travel giant said it hopes to be able to operate further aircraft over the coming days.

Holidaymakers stranded in resort are being looked after in all-inclusive hotels.

Passengers who have already had flights cancelled can move their holiday to an alternative destination or cancel with no charge and full refund.

Thomson added: “We would like to apologise to customers affected by the poor weather conditions in Boa Vista, Cape Verde.

“Due to poor visibility we have been unable to operate flights in and out of Boa Vista.

“We are continuing to closely monitor the situation in Boa Vista to ensure customers can return home safely at the earliest convenience.

“We recognise the inconvenience that this may cause, but the safety of our customers and crew is our primary concern.

“Our dedicated resort teams in Cape Verde are working with the relevant authorities and hoteliers to ensure everyone is looked after and kept updated with the latest information and advice whilst we monitor the situation.”

Customers wanting more information can call 0800 009 3847 or 0203 636 1998.
