Threat forces diversion of Vietnam Airlines jet
A Vietnam Airlines jet was diverted in Japan after a threat was called in. The caller said that if it didn’t return to Tokyo Narita Airport, it would be shot down. The plane was diverted to Fukuoka Airport.
The B787 Dreamliner aircraft was carrying 47 passengers. At Fukuoka, investigations were carried out including questioning crew members and passengers. It was cleared to continue its journey to Hanoi after a delay of several hours. The culprit is still being sought.
