Tim Jeans quits Monarch
Tim Jeans has quit as Monarch Airlines managing director, leaving Kevin George, previously airline operations managing director, to take over the helm.
The airline’s parent The Monarch Group said Jeans was leaving ‘to pursue other opportunities outside the group’. George takes over with immediate effect.
In a statement, the company said: "During Tim’s tenure, both as managing director of Monarch Airlines and formerly as managing director of scheduled services, the scheduled airline business has been significantly developed, wit the growth of both Monarch’s network and fleet.
George has over 25 years of industry experience. He has been with Monarch Airlines for four years and, as airline operations managing director he was responsible for all operational and customer service areas of the business.
The company said he has played a key role in developing Monarch Airlines’ strategy and positioning the business for growth.
Group chief executive Conrad Clifford said: "Kevin has done a fantastic job in managing all operational aspects of the airline and we are looking forward to drawing on his wealth of experience in commercial strategy and service delivery which will be key components of the new direction for Monarch Airlines going forward within the Monarch Group.
“We are grateful to Tim for his valued contribution to the growth of the Monarch Airlines business over the last six years and we wish him every success for his future.”
