Wings Corporate Travel has acquired financial services travel management company specialist Travel Alliance for an undisclosed amount.
London-based Wings has operations in the UK, South Africa and US. Dubai is due to come on line in January, with Singapore following in the next 12-24 months.
Wings’ CEO Tony Sofianos said the acquisition is part of the company’s ongoing global expansion and will assist its established London and Aberdeen operations to achieve a greater market share in the UK.
The London office will now represent Wings’ second regional headquarters together with its Johannesburg operation.
Sofianos said: “This is certainly a bold but very exciting step for our company, especially given the current economic climate.
“Our company acquisition policy has always been to identify opportunities that are aligned to both our culture as well as our niche market strategy.
“The nature of Travel Alliance’s business as well as the calibre of its employees is clearly aligned to this policy.”
Based in the City of London for more than 25 years, Travel Alliance is a proven specialist in travel management services to the financial and insurance markets.
Managing director Derek Barlow, who will assume the position of UK supplier relations and industry affairs director, said: “Our clients can now look forward to an even higher level of service, achievable by the introduction of Wings superb technology solutions and innovations.”
