At a relaxed and informative, colourful 90-minute event on ITB’s Palais stage, the world’s top sustainable destinations were revealed. Happy destination managers showed off their destinations in front of a big and knowledgeable crowd. Over 30 destinations from all over the world were at the event to collect their awards.
Leading sustainable destinations- the ‘Best of the Best of the Planet" sustainable destinations – were given well-deserved awards. Other categories were Best of Cities, Communities & Culture, Best of Nature, Best of Seaside, Best of Europe, Best of the Atlantic, Best of Africa, Best of Asia Pacific, Best of Americas, Best of Europe, and a very important award – in this case awarded to the Kingdom of Bhutan – The world is dying – What are we doing!
