Tourico Holidays grows Asia hotel inventory

Monday, 13 Oct, 2016 0
Florida based travel wholesaler Tourico Holidays has increased hotel inventory in Asia by 20% so far in 2016 and now offers more than 5,000 hotels in the region.

The company also said its pre-purchased ‘ExclusiveDeals’ inventory more than doubled and plans to pre-purchase an additional $15 million in Asian hotel inventory before the year-end.

"Asia is a region demonstrating incredible travel growth, punctuated recently by a very strong first half to 2016, so our primary goal now is to double our hotel inventory again in the next five years," said Steve Skidgel, executive vice president of global product development for Tourico Holidays.

"In addition to bolstering our hotel partnerships, we’ve also shifted focus to building out our pre-purchased hotel inventory in the market, growing our ancillary inventory, and continuing to add offices and personnel on the ground."

It has also beefed up ancillary business with two new partnerships – Thai Rent A Car, in Thailand, and Hawk Rent A Car in Malaysia.

Tourico recently expanded to Shenzhen, China, with the opening of a new office and plans to open in Seoul, South Korea and Sydney, Australia within the next six months.

The company already has a strong presence in Asia Pacific with offices in Beijing and Shanghai, China, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Bangkok, New Delhi and Brisbane.
