Tourism for tomorrow 2011 awards launched
The WTTC Tourism for Tomorrow Awards – showcasing best practice in sustainable tourism – are open for entries.
The finalists and winners of the 2011 Awards will be publicly recognised and will meet government and industry leaders at the awards ceremony during WTTC’s 11th Global Travel & Tourism Summit, to be held from May 17-19, 2011, in Las Vegas.
Entries for the 2011 Tourism for Tomorrow Awards will be accepted until December 10, 2010.
Applications can be submitted online at www.tourismfortomorrow.com
In 2010 Accor won the Global Tourism Business Award category.
The 2010 Destination Stewardship Award
 was won by the Botswana Tourism Board for its work in the Okavango Delta.
Emirates Hotel & Resorts (EH&R) won the 2010 Conservation Award for its Al Maha Desert Resort, a pioneering desert ecolodge.
The Community Benefit Award
 2010 winner was Whale Watch Kaikoura, New Zealand’s only year-round whale-watching operator.
