Tourism Society goes into bat

The Tourism Society has issued details of its annual conference to be held in June at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

The event, under the theme A New Decade of Tourism, includes a dinner in the MCC’s famous Long Room.

The conference on June 14 includes a keynote address from Conservative shadow culture media and sport minister Tobias Ellwood.

Business sessions nclude topics such as new media and marketing for the future, continual professional training and development, a new decade of events, conferences and incentives and the future of tourism consultancy.

A session on the 2010 International Year of Diversity covering sustainability, responsibility and benefits will also be held.

Conference-only fees start at £95 for members and £120 for non-members. The conference and dinner costs £165 for members and £195 for non-members.

Accommodation has been reserved at the adjacent Danubius Hotel for £109 including breakfast and VAT.
