Tourists remain in intensive care after dune crash
Two Singaporean tourists remain in a critical condition after their adventure tour bus rolled over in sand dunes north of Perth at the weekend.
A Royal Perth Hospital spokeswoman told WA Today that another four patients, who were rushed to the hospital by helicopter and ambulances, were stable after suffering spinal injuries when the 4wd vehicle overturned in the dunes at Lancelin.
The tour bus was carrying 34 passengers from Singapore and Japan when it crashed, knocking several tourists unconscious.
Police are also reported to be investigating the disappearance of a number of passports and cameras belonging to the injured tourists.
A senior constable said that several of those on board the bus have since reported their passports, cameras and other items as missing. A search of the dunes with a metal detector has so far not located missing items.
Tourism Council of WA said Desert Storm Adventures had been running tours in Lancelin since 1998 but was not accredited by the industry body.
