Travel agent bookings up at family-tennis resort

Sunday, 30 Nov, 2004 0

About a quarter of bookings at The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort are through agents and the resort in Longboat Key, Fla., reports the highest volume of agent bookings in three years, according to Christy Glemming, marketing manager.

“Agent rates are available throughout the year at the Colony at nearly 50% off regular room rates,” she said.

Other agent incentives throughout the year include frequent offers of $50 per booking or sportswear or other gifts.

Guesta booked by agents also receive a personalized amenity from the booking agency with a special note. Agents wishing to enhance the gift can select from a variety of available items such as gourmet cheeses and fresh fruit.

The Colony was recently named the No. 1 resort for Families by TENNIS magazine.

The resort offers complimentary children’s programs 365 days a year, which adds to the resort’s family appeal, says Ms Glemming.

The resort is an all-suite property
