Travel chaos looms in Greece
Travellers face two days of chaos in Greece as a 48-hour general strike starts today.
Flights will be disrupted throughout the next two days, with air traffic controllers walking out for four hours in the morning and four hours in the evening today and tomorrow.
Public transports, including trains, buses and ferries, will also grind to a halt.
The Foreign Office also warned of power cuts.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to take to the streets in protest in Athens.
Greek trade unions are protesting about austerity measures being instigated by prime minister George Papandreou’s government.
Yesterday the PM said the €28 billion austerity programme was vital for the country’s recovery.
