Travel industry golf day raises thousands for Just A Drop

The Just A Drop Golf Day saw 128 travel professionals teeing off for charity and raising a whopping £14,000 at its charity auction.

Held at the Ian Woosnam Championship Course at the Dale Hill Hotel and Golf Club in East Sussex, the seventh annual golf day, this year sponsored by Jetset, was a sell-out.

Cruise 118’s James Cole was victorious in the men’s game and the ladies prize was won by Wendy Hartley of Reed Travel Exhibitions. Mondial Assistance battled successfully for the team title.

TravelMole was, of course, involved in the event –  offering a new par three challenge called  "Beat The Mole" which raised £930 for Just a Drop , later topped up to a round £1000 courtesy of TravelMole. "

L to R , Cook, Winterburn, Boyle and Docherty – unfortunately all failed to beat the Mole.

During the evening’s charity auction, golfing breaks in Ireland and the US helped raise the handsome 14k figure.

Said organiser Giles Harper: "We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the industry in their support of both the event and Just A Drop; huge thanks must go to our headline sponsor Jetset for their ongoing support , to the hole sponsors, to the companies who kindly donated auction items and to everyone who took part in the event."

Next year’s event will return to Dale Hill on September 6 ,2011. To find out how you can support the event and Just A Drop,  please contact [email protected]
